Journal for Geometry and Graphics 10 (2006), No. 2, 133--136 Copyright Heldermann Verlag 2006 A Note on Similar-Perspective Triangles Mowaffaq Hajja Mathematics Department, Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan mhajja@yu.edu.jo Horst Martini Faculty of Mathematics, Technical University, 09107 Chemnitz, Germany horst-martini@mathematik.tu-chemnitz.de An old theorem of F. E. Wood states that if two triangles in the Euclidean plane are directly similar and perspective from a point then either their sides are parallel in pairs or their circumcircles pass through the point of perspectivity. In this note, we give a simple proof using complex numbers and the notion of triangle shape. Keywords: Similar perspective triangles, Wood's theorem, triangle geometry.
